Week 9 CSA Bag

Good Morning All,

Finally some nice days after some rainy days. Cantaloupe (& other melons) are starting to get sweeter. The more hot sunny days we have that dry out the fields, the sweeter some of your favorite fruit will become.

Remember again for this week there are some items (peaches, tomatoes) that might ripen faster than your other produce, eat/use them at a timely manner.

Cantaloupe can stay out on the counter also, just make sure to watch it. It will help it ripen. The ways we tell if it is ready to cut is the outside coloring will change from a green shade to more of a light orange/orangey you can also smell it. If you smell cantaloupe it will be ready. Once you cut it up either eat it right away or put it in Tupperware container in the refrigerator.
