August is PA Produce Month-Week 8

Hello All!

August is here (we can’t believe it!!) August is PA Produce Month, what does this mean? This means that a lot if the local vegetables & melons are at their peak and coming in daily! This year seems like we are having a slow start, thanks to all this rain. But we are noticing more and more items growing and looking good!

This week make sure to handle your bags with care, there are few items that can bruise!

  • Peppers
  • Peaches
  • Tomatoes
  • Corn
  • Kale
  • Onions
  • Eggplant or Zucchini

We would like to remind you that the peaches are picked when ripe (tree ripened), so make sure to eat them at a timely manner. This also includes the tomatoes, they are vine ripened and are ready to eat! These 2 items may not store as long as some if the other items in your bags!

If you are having trouble thinking of different things to make each week, remember to think outside of the box with some of the items. There are so many different things that can be made, that you may not be thinking of.

Hope you have a great week!

Thank you,

Eagle Point Farm
